PNE Group Opens Office in Binh Dinh, Promoting Offshore Wind Power Project

In Quy Nhon City, Binh Dinh Province, PNE Group recently held an inauguration ceremony for its office located in the ACB Building, 173 Le Hong Phong Street.

At the ceremony, there were  Ms. Helga Margarete Barth, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Vietnam; Mr. Peter Kompalla, Chief Representative of the German Industry and Commerce in Vietnam (AHK Vietnam); Mr. Per Hornung Pedersen, Executive Chairman of PNE Group (online meeting); and Mr. Thorsten Fastenau, Executive Vice President of PNE Group.

Through an online approach, Mr. Per Hornung Pedersen, Executive Chairman of PNE Group, emphasized that the inauguration of the office in Quy Nhon City is not only a memorable event but also a significant milestone affirming the credibility, quality, and commitment to jointly developing the Hon Trau Offshore Wind Power Project with Binh Dinh Province.

He highlighted the the project’s success is attributed to crucial support from the governments of Vietnam and Germany, as well as Binh Dịnh Province. He expressed the ambition for the project to be chosen as a pilot offshore wind power project in Vietnam, fostering strong and enduring cooperation between Vietnam and Germany.

Speaking at the inauguration, Mr. Thorsten Fastenau, Executive Vice President of PNE Group, stated, “Today, we stand at a pivotal milestone in the development journey of the Hon Trau Offshore Wind Power Project. This achievement is the result of the maximum support from provincial leaders and local departments from Binh Dinh province as well as the dedicated efforts of PNE Group’s team.”

According to Mr. Thorsten Fastenau, PNE Group and Binh Dinh Province have overcome numerous challenges together to develop the project successfully to this point. He also noted that many challenges are still ahead, requiring increased continuous collaboration and full support from both the German and Vietnamese governments.

“With all the expertise, experience, and capacity of PNE Group, we are committed to advancing the project with utmost effort, passion, and dedication to contribute to the green energy transition, the development of Vietnam’s offshore wind power market, and the socio-economic growth of Binh Dinh Province,” Mr. Fastenau assured.

Binh Dinh leaders expressed their wish for the German Ambassador to facilitate the smooth and successful implementation of PNE Group’s offshore wind power project.

At the meeting, Secretary of Binh Dinh Provincial Party Committee, Mr. Ho Quoc Dung, shared that Binh Dinh Province is actively expediting related procedures for PNE Group to soon implement the offshore wind power project, with an expected capacity of 2,000 MW and an investment capital of $4.6 billion. He emphasized that the inauguration of PNE Group’s representative office in Quy Nhon City is an important step in accelerating the project’s realization in the province.

Mr. Ho Quoc Dung also expressed his desire for the German Ambassador to continue advocating for the smooth and successful implementation of PNE Group’s offshore wind power project.

Mr. Pham Anh Tuan, Chairman of the Binh Dinh Provincial People’s Committee, added that the offshore wind power project is a large-scale project and offers significant benefits for both Binh Dinh Province and PNE Group. Thus, he urged Ambassador, Helga Margarete Barth, to continue supporting the province in accelerating the project and affirmed the province’s determination to “complete the project through to the end.” Ms. Helga Margarete Barth noted that Binh Dinh Province is the first locality she has visited since her assignment as the German Ambassador to Vietnam. Regarding PNE Group’s offshore wind power project, she assured that the German Embassy in Vietnam will continue accompanying Binh Dinh Province and PNE Group to ensure the project launches as soon as possible.
